All those connected with our cricket club will be saddened by the news that Brian passed away on December 24th 2018. Brian was a man with a deep love of the game of cricket in all it's aspects and a deep respect for what us old timers would regard as the essential "spirit " of the game. He was associated with the Essex Over 70s side and The Two Counties C.C. as well as our club but he managed to play several games for us over the past three or four years. In every match he was totally engaged and gave of his best. Brian was also a valuable member of our Indoor Winter League team and regularly attended winter nets providing forensic analysis of all our (many) faulty batting techniques. One of the most amazing things about him was that in the last year he never once allowed his illness to get in the way of turning out and helping the club which he made very clear was his distinct priority. He will be much missed and Chelmer Veterans Cricket Club sends its deepest sympathies and condolences to the Robinson family. Dave Griffiths will be representing the club at the funeral at 12.30 on Thursday January 31st at the Three Counties Crematorium High Garrett, Braintree. Ted Woodgate Chair CVCC January 23rd 2019
