Chelmer Vets welcomed Phil Bartlett on debut, together with Graham Boxer & Melvin John making their first appearances of the season. Skipper Rynn won the toss & invited Old Vics to bat first in a 38-over fixture.

Old Vics opened brightly to reach 33-0 after six overs, however Baker's fourth over was a double-wicket maiden to give the scoreboard a different look. Cader & Awan progressed the score to 57 before Baker struck again just before the drinks break. Bartlett took his first CVCC wicket soon after drinks, leaving Old Vics on 72-4 after 20 overs. Bartlett helped himself to three further wickets & Robinson bowled a very economical spell as Old Vics closed on 124 all out, leaving Chelmer Vets a target run-rate of 3.3

After a steady start, CVCC lost three quick wickets to reach drinks at 41-3, needing a further 84 at a slightly increased run-rate of 4.2
Streatfield fell with the score on 61 in the 22nd over, bringing Rynn to the crease.
The skipper upped the scoring-rate considerably before opener Gray fell in the 31st over (106-5), soon followed by Rynn himself for 34 scored at a strike-rate of 121 (114-6).
Eleven needed off 38 balls & CVCC inched their way to victory with 8 balls to spare for the loss of one further wicket.
